Rutland, VT to Warner, NH
It was a tough ride; there was no opportunity to warm up. The day started with a 17.5 mile climb, fortunately followed by a much needed 15 mile descent that my legs really appreciated, giving them sufficient rest to face the upcoming 22 mile killer climb, with the gradient reaching +15% at stages. The final 14 miles were the best - downhill all the way. By the time I reached Warner my legs and knees had recovered.
The Northern Rail Trail is under development. There are some very good sections, and some very rough sections that are still single track. I would love to go and ride the full length of this trail once is has been completed.
