Long Lake, NY to Ticonderoga, NY
It was a nice day for riding. It started off cool and cloudy with temps in the 50's, and ended up in the lower 60's. There was a breeze out of the East that brought a bit of rain with it every now and then.
When I arrived in Newcomb, I saw a Visitors Information Center, and decided to stop for a break. There I met and had an interesting conversation with David Hughes, who was on duty at the time. He was very knowledgeable about the area, the community, and also accommodation for touring cyclists. The important takeaway for me was, 'if you are in a pinch regarding accommodation, get in touch with the local Information Center. They are likely to be able to assist'. Thank you again David.
Along the way I decided to see if I could ride through to Vermont. There was no real reason for it, I just wanted to get to New England. Unfortunately by the time I got to Ticonderoga, it was late, and the ferry had stopped running for the day. Oh well...
