Day 8 - RAA Sect 2

Stopped for breakfast at the Methow Valley Ciderhouse in Winthrop.

Felt obliged to, as it is purportedly a cyclist hang out.

If anybody is interested and in the area, I would recommend Going 3/4 of a mile up the road to the main street where there are more wonderful places.

Before I left this morning I checked the weather, and the prediction was scattered showers later in the afternoon. One of those 'scattered showers' followed me for 6 miles and I was soaked. Had a guy in a truck patiently and protectively sitting behind me. The rain started on the last part of the climb, so it was slow going. Once the descent started it was obviously much faster, but not too fast! When we reached the bottom of the first descent, the guy pulled up next to me, rolled down his window and shouted 'you should be ok now, good luck' and drove off. There are some amazing people out there!

The road cut through the mountain giving a spectacular view of the mountain in the distance.

Unfortunately closed, else it could have been quite interesting.

Definitely know where you are. I liked the sign, very different from the standard DOT signs.

Breakfast and Cider anyone?

Old wooden silo on a farm.

Fantastic ride coming into the town below. Had a guy with a Model T coming past me after this, but couldn't get my phone out quick enough.
