Day 69 - Fri, Dec 13 - Alachua to Palatka (Florida)

The best part of a day's ride is when the route includes a trail/bike path. So when I got onto this one, I was very happy; that was until I came across a flooded area. My first instinct was to just try riding across, then I thought better of it and decided to turn back and see whether there was another place where I could join the trail. This is alligator country, so I didn't want to try my luck. I found another place to join the trail just over a mile after that, although I had to push the bike for a while because of the sandy conditions. Finally, I was on the trail which was surfaced and made for a great ride, all the way to Palatka.
