Day 59 - TransAm Express East Bound - August 9th

Boonville, MO to Mokane, MO

I was very excited about being able to start riding the famous Katy Trail, not just a small part of it, but almost the entire trail.

Of course I had to stop at the Katy Trail office for information. The office is located in a historic building that used to be a grocery distribution depo. The organization has done a good job of depicting the history of the area while simultaneously successfully promoting the trail.

I was about to cross the bridge over the Missouri River, when a lady, called out and asked me to please wait, she needed to talk to me. I thought that interesting, and wondered what it was all about. It turns out she was interested in obtaining a trike instead of an upright, which she believed would be a better option for health reasons. She explained that she had been to several bicycle dealers, and they had not been able to provide the guidance that she needed. After about an hour of explaining and answering questions, I managed to get back on the road and continue my journey.
