I had a wonderful surprise this morning. Five miles into the ride I entered a State Forest.
It was so amazing to ride through the forest with hardly any traffic (it was still early) and the sound of birds all around. I wish I could have spent more time there.
After discovering that the campsite I had planned to stay in was closed I had to backtrack and headed for a resort-style RV park that I had seen on the map. When I arrived the lady in charge informed me that they do not accommodate campers. I must have really shown disappointment, so she took pity on me and allowed me to camp on the lawn next to the golf course, which was great! I got myself organized and then went to the shop to find something to eat. The same lady was there, and kindly prepared a tuna salad for me.
