Missouri Valley, IA to Council Bluffs, IA
When I started packing up the trike, a couple on their way to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally came over to chat. Turns out they are part of a group that belong to the same club, and they decided to take extra time, and make it an exploratory trip to the rally as a group. I planned on leaving much earlier, but had such a good time chatting to the folks I lost track of time.
Once on the road, I was very happy to discover that I would be riding a segment of the old Lincoln Highway. Even though it was only for about 10 miles, it made me happy to ride along that route, as it is one of the first routes I looked at years ago when I started researching cross continental rides. I will definitely have to plan to ride this entire route!
I arrived at the hotel in Council Bluffs to find that Yvonne was busy checking in. What great timing! She had flown into Des Moines and driven to Council Bluffs. I was very happy to see her. We spent the afternoon exploring Omaha Nebraska, one town over and a stone's throw from Council Bluffs. We found a great restaurant for dinner.
