Day 45 - RAA Sect 6 - July 26th

Pickstown, SD to Yankton, SD

Slight drizzle when I left this morning, but it didn’t last long. I started trying to take photos with the GoPro, but gave up. It is too distracting when I’m riding, so I’ll fiddle with that this weekend.

I learned more about Pickstown. According to my source, a long-time resident of Pickstown, it was never supposed to be a town, and should have been torn down after the project. When the Lake Francis Case project started the labor force had to be brought in from all over. This created problems with work schedules etc, so the Army Corp of Engineers created a temporary settlement at the top of a hill. It still is there with people living there permanently. Nobody could give me any definitive reason as to why the 'encampment' wasn't gutted when the project ended.

This cabin in Yankton looks a bit smarter than the ones I normally get. Note the swing chair on the deck.

First time I've seen a trampoline like this. Much safer than the older style
