Day 40 - RAA Sect 5 July 21st

Gettysburg to Pierre

With the exception of the GPS system leading me astray this was a very pleasant day to ride. I enjoyed the many downhills so I could build up a nice rhythm and keep comfortable at the same time. The wind speed was below 5 mph, and helped to keep the heat of the day bearable.

Even though I was very unhappy with the navigation, there was a silver lining. I saw plenty of wildlife - lots of rabbits, then fox, what a treat! Best of all though was the wolf sitting in a classic pose on about a 10ft rock mound watching me.

I was also very excited to get into a bigger city again, and be able to go to a big store to buy myself some gluten-free food that doesn't come from a truck stop refrigerator or other small store.

Importantly, Pierre marks the end of Section 5 of my ride.
