Day 28 - RAA Sect 4 - July 9th

Sandy Springs, MT to Jordan, MT.

So there I was camping at Sandy Springs last night. There was a truck stop and camp ground with a small restaurant and curio shop.

After settling in, it didn’t take me long to doze off. I was woken by loud thunder, howling wind, and rain. It got so bad I lay spread eagle on the tent floor with hands and feet in the corners of the tent to prevent it from getting ripped away. It didn’t take long before I could feel rain coming through somewhere, and just hoped for the best.

This carried on for about an 45 mins to an hour (who knows, time seems to be different under these circumstances) before the storm subsided. I got my wet stuff out of the tent, and drying in the restroom, then dried out the tent, and moved it to a safer place (or so I thought). About an hour later the saga started all over again. This time the tent wasn’t flattened on my chest like the first time, the wind just shook it around.

This morning I assessed the situation. Fortunately there is no major damage to my tent or my trike. I packed up, got right back on my pony and headed out.
