Stanford, MT to Grass Range, MT.
One of the constants when riding through the "flat lands", is the wind. Without the wind at your back you have to keep pedaling so as not to come to a slow halt. So you can imagine how happy I was when I approached the mountains again. Still have a wind, but not as hectic as when it blows across the prairies.
I met up with a fellow cyclist today who is on his way back to Philadelphia. He started a ride from there on December 25, 2021. He cycled to Florida, took a right to the west coast, a right on to the northern tier, and is now contemplating where he wants to turn right again to go see his mom.
He has done many long rides. He started these treks after graduation (12 years ago), and has not stopped since. He takes a break every now and then to spend time with family, and to contemplate his next trip.
