I've been feeling uncomfortable riding without a helmet, especially with the fast downhills, so decided I should purchase one for safety. Looking at the maps, I saw that Great Falls has a few bike shops and decided to make that an overnight stop.
With the exception of the GPS going all wonky on me (putting me on dirt and gravel farm roads, then wanting me to turn into two track trails leading to wind turbines) all was well. It was actually great getting "up close and personal" with the wind turbines!
I finally reached Great Falls, found a reasonably big bike shop, and bought a helmet I liked. While there, I met a fellow cyclist - also a senior :-) and got chatting. He kindly invited me to stay over at his place. Turns out his wife is also a cyclist who had recently returned from a tour in Greece.
Tom and Kris were superb hosts. Had a fantastic home made gluten free burger, and then got treated to a tour of the local trail along the river, and a visit to the "shortest river in the world".
Truly was a fun evening with amazing hosts. Thank you Tom and Kris.
