Day 17 - RAA Sect 3 - June 28th

Instead of going on a very busy Route 2 to West Glacier, I found a cycling route on Google Maps that is slightly shorter and with less climbing.

At about the eight mile mark I saw that there was no signal, meaning no map! A local stopped while I was trying to figure things out, and after a long chat about the area, bicycles, etc he gave me directions.

It is a peaceful, quiet road with about 18mi being dirt road. I had not been on a dirt road like this for an awful long time, so I really enjoyed it.

You would think the dust would be a bother, but not so as it is a very quiet road, mainly used by farmers. The only time I wished I had a suspension system was when I got to the washboard areas. Certainly gives you a good shake.

BTW have I mentioned that I love the downhills? 😁

Columbia Falls area - Clever idea from whomever did this. Reminds me of Franschhoek Pass where I collected water during the drought when we were there.
