Day 11 - RAA Sect 2

Before leaving Colville, I had breakfast at Zip's Drive-in - truly part of American history . They do make a good breakfast as you can see from the picture (and even better coffee). Interestingly, they have a separate dining room offering breakfast specials for seniors of the community.

I was a bit surprised when ~12 mi from Newport the route put me on a 10 mi dirt road, or, as the sign says a "Primitive Road". Have not been on one as bad as this for many years. It is beautiful, even though you can only catch glimpses of your surroundings when you dare take your eyes off the potholes and washouts on the road.

Breakfast of champions, AND gluten free. Through the window in the background is the separate dining room for the seniors.

Love this. A classic general dealer on the road.

How primitive can you get? Not too bad at the end!

Potholes? What potholes?

Rutted and washed away.

View of the river and beach area at the end of the primitive road.

Have not seen one of these for quite some time.
